Taking the firearms safety course
If you would like to take a firearms safety course for an FID or LTC, we suggest that you consider taking a Private Sector course in NRA Basic Pistol Course from our NRA Instructors. Our NRA Basic Pistol Course is conducted in classroom style setting as a personalized, lesson in a low stress atmosphere.
During the course, you will handle and fire a number of different revolvers and semi-automatic pistols. In addition to the training with .22 caliber pistols, you will also have the opportunity to fire several large caliber handguns if you wish to do so.
Our NRA and Massachusetts State Police certified instructor, will teach you the fundamentals of pistol marksmanship, ammunition knowledge, firearms safety, several different two-handed and one handed shooting positions, and offer a number of helpful tips on how to select, clean, and maintain a firearm that is right for your needs.
The cost of this course is $150 or $125 per person if you take the course with one or more friends or colleagues. This fee includes the use of all firearms, ammunition, eye and ear protection, the textbook, and all training materials necessary to successfully complete the course. Refreshments will be provided during our one day classes.
Our courses are completed on Saturday or Sunday for the one day class, or split into two shorter sessions during successive evenings for our weekday courses. Course dates can be found on our calendar page.
All of our courses are certified by the National Rifle Association and the Massachusetts State Police and satisfy the basic firearms safety training required to obtain a FID or LTC.
